Million Paws Walk

Hi everydoggie,

We went to the Million Paws Walk this last Sunday & it was fantastic. It's the premier event on the dogggy social calendar.

It's an annual event to raise money for the RSPCA & it held in many locations around Australia. We went to our local event in Melbourne & walked the 5km's around Albert park Lake. More than 16,000 people walked at 13 locations across Victoria this year. http://www.rspcavic.org/events/events_million_paws_walk.htm

Uncle Stephen came along to help mummy handle the four of us which is quite a challenge in a crowd. Stephen's wife Catherine (who is in the USA at the moment) would like a doggy, but he's not so sure, so we were on our bestest behaviour working the doggy charm.

Catherine - we think we may have made some progress !!

Stephen you are a nutural with the dogs !!

We meet heaps of other doggies and they were all so nice well behaved - no fights at all.

Kobe, who we are now re-naming to Scooby, met a few other great danes & seemed to enjoy being able to meet them at face level.
I of course was very popular & was in high demand for pats & cuddles.
Kuki had her PJ's on as it cooled down after we walked & lots of folks thought she looked very warm & snuggly.
Billy Bob continued to amuse people with his antics & the funny faces he pulls.

Someone even came with their pet pig !!

And we saw a Kelpie (Australian Sheep Herding dog) puppy who had already learnt to herd ducks - very clever.

The next couple of pics are for our friend Danny who might like to get an English Bulldog to join his family - you don't see them so often in Melbourne & for comparison a picture of a staffy.

Chiyo - we haven't forgotten about the 'Tag' & belly shots - I have been very tricksy with mummy & everytime she tries to sneak up on me with the camera I roll over - hee hee hee!!! This is the closest she has gotten so far.

bella dear i'm sure your mommy won't give up till she gets a shot at your tummy! hee hee better get it over short and sweet :p

the walk looks like a lot of fun! did you get to meet many other small dogs? when i go for big doggie events like these i am usually overwhelmed by big dogs.

i am just wondering how the name-changing works. is kobe named scooby because it sounds like kobe? so that he won't get confused? :)

love..

Hi Bella! Sorry its been so long since we've visited you. The humans have been very busy and can't help with the computer. It looks like your million paws walk was a REALLY fun time! We are trying to talk our humans into doing that at an event here in Minnesota coming up soon. We like Scooby's new name. It fits him. As for the chewing, its very hard to keep a young guy from doing that. About all you can do is watch him very closely! Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.

Hi Bella & Scooby - hope you like your new name pal and do you have any Scooby Snacks in Aus?

I would not have liked such a big walk, too many people. I would be frightened.

I am pleased I am not the only one who doesn't do tummy pix hehe.

Boo - thanks - I think I look pretty cute in my 'almost' belly shot ;-)

Chiyo - I know i should stop being so tricksy - but it's fun - hee hee :-) I got to meet lots of other doggies big & small & mummy has taken me to these events since before I can remember, so as long as doofus dogs & people don't step on me I LOVE it coz everyone LOVES me !! We have gone with Scooby coz he's like Scooby Doo & Kobe was just what he was called by his foster family(2 weeks) before here.

Simba - oh no you can't snack on pet piggies !!

Huskee Boy - we hope we worked our majik on Uncle Stephen, but we wont give up either - hee hee

Tasha & Eva - MPW was GREAT you must go to your local event - LOVE to hear abot it - hey imagine if we could organise a world wide million paws walk to raise money for animal welfare throughout the world !!

Pacco - hola & gracias

Pippa - maaaate how are ya? Yep we have Scooby snacks here in Oz, but I'm named after Scooby Doo (cartoon character) coz I look & 'talk' like him "wrooow wrolf'

Pearly - we LOVE the kitty - but a little too much for the kitty or mama's liking. We used to all get along then mama adopted Scarmouche (whippet boy) who taught us to chase. So Chloe (the kitty) lives in one side of the house & has mama when she goes to bed & we have the other & have mama when she's awake.

Gaucho - mi amore - Wuffs is doggy speak for 'love' so I sign my name 'love Bella' in doggy thats 'wuffs Bella'

Ferndoggle - we read that Texas went to MPW but we didn't see him as he is in Sydney & we are in Melbourne & these two cities are about 9 hrs drive away. I think we should have a world-wide MPW what do you think??

Asta - wow your mama is still away for quite some time. Yep it's a date see you at next years MPW !!

Billy - hi ya babe - yeah i can do cute pretty good can't I ? That pet piggy sure was nice & even knew how to sit & all a real sweety.

Liberty - hee hee tum-ball tag I like it. Lets get it going then cutest tum-ball sleeping pics ?
